What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing awareness on the present moment. In everyday life, mindfulness is about learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, rather than being ruled by our thoughts. Stress and strain of life can result in us feeling caught up in a constant stream of thoughts, feelings and emotions, reflecting on past issues and/or feeling overwhelmed by future worry and anxieties. Mindfulness aims to achieve a relaxed, non-judgemental awareness of thoughts, feelings and sensations. Mindfulness can help us to understand ourselves better, enjoy life more and achieve a sense of well-being.

With the assistance of horses & dogs you will discover the unique experience of cultivating mindful self-awareness and the techniques of mindful practice. Spend time with animals at the retreat and discover inner peace, energy rapport and experience healing on a deeper level. Mindful practice will assist you to feel calm, confident and focused. Before long you will have mastered these useful tools enabling you to apply them in your everyday life.

Mindfulness based stress reduction

This course will give you an opportunity to gain new tools to support you to cope and improve the quality of your life.

This course is delivered online using easy-to-use media platform Zoom video communication. The course is broken down into seven 1.5hr sessions offered over seven weeks.

During each session you will participate in live visual tutorials and undertake practical exercises to support your learning. Home practice tasks will be assigned after each session to encourage you to carry out practical mindfulness focused exercises.
